From our roots as a Pacific Northwest manufacturers’ representative, Brad Thompson Company has grown into a nationally recognized engineering resource for distributed energy, industrial power, and process systems.
Brad Thompson Company was founded in 1978 with a straightforward mission: bring the best engineered equipment manufacturers to customers in the Pacific Northwest. For decades, that meant deep expertise in steam turbines, heat exchangers, boilers, industrial fans, and process systems — and relationships with manufacturers that clients could trust.
As the energy landscape shifted — toward cogeneration, combined heat and power, biomass, geothermal, and distributed generation — BTCo evolved with it. Today, we are far more than a manufacturers' representative. We are a technical resource, project partner, and distributed energy advisor recognized on projects across the United States.
That evolution didn't require abandoning what made us effective. Our manufacturer relationships remain exclusive and deeply technical. Our engineering team still does the hard work of application review, cycle analysis, and specification development. What changed is the scope of problems we can solve.
Brad Thompson Company opens in the Pacific Northwest, representing leading equipment manufacturers for industrial power and process clients in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.
Growing demand for combined heat and power in pulp & paper, chemical, and food processing drives BTCo to develop deeper cycle engineering expertise beyond equipment sales.
BTCo expands its portfolio and project reach to serve emerging renewable power markets — biomass, waste-to-energy, and geothermal — across the western United States.
Recognized across North America for engineering depth, trusted manufacturer partnerships, and end-to-end project support — from feasibility through commissioning and beyond.
BTCo brings exclusive manufacturer representation together with in-house engineering capability — giving clients a single, technically authoritative resource across every major energy and process system category.
Back-pressure, condensing, and extraction-condensing steam turbines from 500 kW to 250 MW.
STEAM TURBINES →Heat recovery steam generators, waste heat boilers, and auxiliary systems.
ENERGY SYSTEMS →End-to-end support for CHP, biomass, geothermal, and waste-to-energy projects.
TALK TO AN ENGINEER →Shell-and-tube, plate-and-frame, and air-cooled heat exchangers.
HEAT TRANSFER →Pressure vessels, separators, filters, and packaged process systems.
PROCESS EQUIPMENT →Centrifugal and pressure-blower fans for industrial applications.
INQUIRE ABOUT FANS →Selective catalytic reduction, baghouses, and multi-pollutant control systems.
POLLUTION CONTROL →Cooling towers, air-cooled condensers, chillers, and integrated thermal management systems for efficient heat rejection.
COOLING SOLUTIONS →We start with your steam source, process requirements, or site data — not a catalog. Our engineers develop cycle analyses, equipment specifications, and configuration recommendations tailored to your project.
BTCo holds exclusive or preferred territory representation for leading global manufacturers. These aren't transactional relationships — they are long-term technical partnerships that give clients access to factory engineering support.
Our involvement doesn't end at equipment sale. We actively participate in pre-sales engineering, project management coordination, startup planning, and long-term technical support.
From Pacific Northwest industrial projects to nationally significant distributed energy installations, BTCo's project record spans fuel types, power scales, and regulatory environments across the country.
Founded in the Pacific Northwest, Brad Thompson Company maintains deep regional relationships and strong regulatory expertise.
We actively serve clients across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California, Alaska, and Colorado, with a clear understanding of each region’s energy landscape.
Our distributed energy project experience extends nationally — supporting clients wherever the right technology and the right project partner matter most.
Our engineers are available to discuss your project, review your site data, or assess technology options at no cost. We believe good projects start with honest technical conversations.
